George Pisi joins Taranaki

George Pisi has confirmed his signing for Tenderlink Taranaki for the 2010/2011 Air NZ Cup seasons.

George played five years for North Harbour, celebrating 50 caps in 2009, and three years with the Auckland Blues. He missed the 2009 Super 14 season due to injury, but will turn out once again for the Blues in 2010.

One factor in his decision to move was the attraction of Head Coach, Colin Cooper. "Who wouldn't want to train under Colin Cooper. I know I have alot to learn from Coops and a lot to give to this team. I can't wait to get started in Taranaki" Pisi says. 

He continued "It feels like the right time for a change and the right time to challenge myself with a new experience".  Taranaki have also signed class backs Kurt Baker and Andre Taylor.

Colin Cooper is delighted with the signing, commenting "George is a talented force on the field. His addition to the team will add strength and create some strong competition for our back line players, we look forward to him joining us in the next few months".
